SITE Conference “Pre-Work”

This year the program committee asked all our presenters to provide “Pre-Work” for attendees. The pre-work is shown below. Please review the keynote, learning lab, and concurrent sessions you plan to attend (there are 22!) and be sure to read, download and/or print the information shown below for your selected sessions. The pre-work is in the form of articles, book excerpts, exercises, videos, photos, and links to helpful information. Not all sessions have pre-work assigned.

Pre-work encourages preparation for participation in the live educational sessions. The pre-work helps to model a blended learning approach for the SITE conference. Thank you to these session presenters for their pre-work contributions to the 57th Annual SITE Conference in Austin, Texas June 26-29, 2011.

The iPad and Training Design

This session will provide SITE Conference participants with key information, tools and practical applications on how the iPad can serve as an effective training platform for corporate users. Ron Zamir, the CEO of Allen Communication Learning Services, will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using the iPad for training and whether it’s the right choice for your organizations training needs. When preparing for this workshop it’s important to consider the needs of your organization and ask yourself the following questions:

What are the key considerations when planning for tablet-based training in your organization?
For what learning situations is tablet-based training a good fit?
What are the best uses of tablet-based training?
How can tablet-based training support other types of learning in your organization?

Hello all of my fellow SITE Conference goers!!! I am so excited to be showing you how to enhance any photo for your training by utilizing Photoshop. If you are planning on bringing your lap top to the conference, make sure you have Photoshop CS4 or CS5 loaded, and stop by my session. Since my session has been limited to the first 1000 people, come early and get a good seat. If you want to be a hands on learner, I have some photos for you to download that we will be working on during the conference. Hope to see you there!!
